Walking trail, hiking trail at Oirase Gorge, a National Park in Towada. About 4 hours. Represents Japan hiking course, one of the most beautiful river valleys. Walk along the banks of the river and streams. You can see fresh greenery and wild flowers, since it’s a national park it is prohibited from picking or taking plants, trees, and stones. |

AOMORI ROUTE INN

Hiking trail at Mt. Hakkoda. About 1.3 hours. With the Hakkoda Ropeway go to the top, a circular hiking trail leads to a small marshland near the peak. At about 5,196 feet still snow remains. Walking trail at Tsutanuma Lake. About 1 hour. Six other swamps hiking course, you can hear the sounds of the wild birds, beech trees surround the lake where it reflects in the lake if on a day with no wind. |

Hiking trail at Mt. Iwaki. About 2 hour. At about 5,331 feet it is also referred to as Tsugaru-Fuji due to its shape. Up to the 8th level with the vehicle, to the 9th level with the lift, to the 10th level mountain climbing. If the weather is clear you can get a 360degree panoramic view of Aomori pref. On this tour the most toughest course. |

From Hirosaki to Morioka is the in between Hachimantai. Hiking trail at Hachimantai mountaintop, see the Dragon Eye Kagami Pond. About 1 hour. You can only see this so called “Dragon-eye” Kagami pond in May, June month. Once this frozen pond starts to melt it leaves a shape like the eye of a dragon. |

At Lake Tazawa, a caldera lake, deepest in Japan. Enjoy a leisurely swan boat ride on Lake Tazawa, see the fishes gather up close. Walking trail at Negaeri Keikoku (ravine). About 1 hour. Walking across an old suspension bridge see the “Mikaeri-no-taki” waterfall hiking course. |

Walking trail at Yamadera, uphill with many steps. About 2.5 hours. As the name says up on the mountain there is a scenic Buddhist temple with 1,015 steps to the top. You can eat their famous “konnyaku” along the way. |

Hiking trail at Mt. Zao, see the Zao Okama Crater. The color of the lake changes depending on the angle of the light, so it has been described as “Goshiki-ko”. About 1.5 hours |
