HOKKAIDO GOURMET + RISHIRI ISLAND TOUR

A tour to enjoy the gourmet food of Hokkaido such as crab, scallop, salmon roe, salmon & other seafood, soup curry, ramen, genghis khan, etc. Unfortunately, some restaurants and Onsen hotel cannot accept large of number people, so the tour is limited to 14 people. Let’s enjoy Hokkaido Autumn with the food and Onsen.

Hawaiian Airlines will resume service from Sapporo/Chitose to Honolulu on April 2, 2024. Direct flights are available if you apply early.

After arriving at Shin-Chitose airport, go to the hotel that's within the airport so you can rest.

BIEI
PARK HILLS HOTEL

From the hotel we go to Furano city to visit the Tomita Farm, where we will see the many flowers in bloom. Next go to Biei village, which is said to be the most beautiful village in Japan. We visit Shikisai-no-Oka, a panoramic flower garden. We can ride a tractor bus to get around the flower garden easily. Lunch is famous Soup Curry. Then we go to see Aoi-Ike (Blue Pond), a man-made pond where the color of the water changes depending on the weather. Next go to see the Shirahige Waterfalls. An underground river from Mt. Tokachi tumbles down, creating a magnificent waterfall. The Biei River below is also known as the Blue River for its shining, cobalt blue hue. Then we go to the hotel.

HOTEL WBF GRANDE

After leaving the hotel we ride the Asahidake Ropeway. Mt. Asahidake is the highest mountain in Hokkaido. Enjoy the earliest autumn leaves in Japan. Then we go to the Asahikawa Ramen Village, there are about 8 ramen shops representing Asahikawa. Lunch is Ramen Have lunch at your favorite restaurant. (own payment) After lunch we visit the Otokoyama sake factory. Next go the Hokuchin Museum. This museum displays about 2,500 valuable materials featuring the history of land reclamation and the defense of Hokkaido, including the history of Tondenhei farmer-soldiers, who were tasked with land reclamation and the defense of Hokkaido.

SURFEEL HOTEL
From the hotel we go to Asahikawa station to ride the limited express train “Sarobetsu” to Wakkanai station, the northernmost station in Japan. Enjoy the vast view of Hokkaido. Lunch on the train is the most popular eki-ben: Ezo Wappa (crab, sea urchin, scallop, salmon roe). After arriving at Wakkanai station we go to the Wakkanai Centennial Memorial Tower. From there you can see Wakkanai city and if the weather is clear you can also see Rishiri-Fuji, Rebun island, and Sakhalin. Then we go to the hotel. Dinner is Wakkanai's famous octopus shabu.

RISHIRI HOTEL

 

From the hotel we go to Wakkanai port and ride a ferry to Rishiri island, part of the Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu National Park. For lunch those that want to eat Kaisen-don (seafood on rice), you can order that and others can choose something else. On a clear day you can see Mt. Rishiri-Fuji, one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan. We will see Himenuma – a man-made pond, Otatomari Swamp & and other scenic places of Rishiri. Next go to the Rishiri Island Museum. Then we go to the hotel.

After leaving the hotel on Rishiri island, we catch the ferry back to Wakkanai. Then we go to the northern point of Cape Soya Our destination is Sarufutsu, a famous town for scallops. They sell various kinds of scallops, ideal for gifts. Lunch is scallop cuisine. After lunch we go to the hotel in Monbetsu city, which is famous for its crabs. Enjoy a variety of crabs for dinner.

From the hotel we go to the Okhotsk Sea Ice Museum GIZA, a museum with exhibits, live creatures, a movie theatre, and an ice room where the temperature is kept at minus 20C/ -68 degrees Fahrenheit (winter jackets are provided). You can touch the real drift ice, spin a damp towel to see what happens and watch a short video about the drift ice. Then we go to the Okhotsk Tokkari (Seal) Center where you can see different types of seals. Next go to see Crab claw (object) symbol of Monbetsu city. After lunch we visit to the old Abashiri prison which is an open-air museum showing the inside of the prison, to see how it was in the past. Then we go to the hotel.

OBIHIRO
GARDEN HOTEL

After leaving the hotel at Kussharo we go to see Lake Mashu, a caldera lake in Akan National Park which is often covered with fog. Then we go to see Mt. Io (Sulfur Mountain), an active volcano. From there we go on a Lake Akan sightseeing cruise to see the beautiful autumn leaves. In addition we will see the curious green moss ball: marimo at Churui island. After lunch we go to the hotel in Obihiro. Dinner is Obihiro's specialty: pork bowl. After dinner, for those that want to see Obihiro's famous the street food stalls we can take you.

From the hotel we visit the Ryugetsu Sweetpia Garden, a Hokkaido confectionery shop and factory. The most popular items are An Bata San, and Sanporoku. At the factory you may be able to buy the outlet sweets at a cheaper price. After lunch we go to the Upopoi National Ainu Museum and Park. Japan’s northernmost national museum and the first one dedicated to the history and culture of the indigenous Ainu people. we go to the hotel.

From the hotel, head to Otaru. If the weather is good on the way, we can see Mt. Yotei, also known as Hokkaido's Mt. Fuji. Lunch is (own payment) at the Sanakaku Market (seafood) or Naruto restaurant (Chicken). After lunch we ride a rickshaw and explore in Otaru. Next visit the Music Box Museum & and Shops as well as the Kitaichi Glassware Shops. Next go to Ario Shopping Mall. Enjoy shopping for souvenirs at supermarkets and other locations. Dinner is at Sapporo Beer Garden Restaurant, a specialty of Hokkaido, Genghis Khan you grill lamb meat & vegetables on a metal skillet and will include beer unlimited.  Then we go to the hotel in Sapporo.

From the hotel we go to the Hoheikyo Dam. Enjoy the spectacular autumn foliage scenery. Then we go to Nijo Market and Tanuki koji Shopping Street for shopping and lunch. After lunch and shopping we go back the same hotel. If you want to go to Sapporo Chikagai (Underground mall), Susukino district, and Odori Park, we will take you there.

After checking out of hotel we visit Chitose Salmon Aquarium, we can see salmon returning to their hometown to lay their eggs in the river from underwater observation room in September to October. Then we go to Shin-Chitose airport for your departure flight to Honolulu.
